Study in France

France is an excellent study destination for Indian students due to its high-quality education system, scholarships and financial aid options, multicultural environment, work opportunities, and affordable cost of living.

In 2022, French foreign minister Catherine Colonna, said France aims to welcome 20,000 Indian students by 2025. France welcomes 7500 to 8000 students from India each year. IELTS is not mandatory either here. International students, including those from India, are allowed to work part-time while studying in France.

The cost of living in France can be quite affordable for Indian students compared to other study destinations. According to the Number Cost of Living Index, the cost of living in Paris, the capital city of France, is 22.46% lower than in Mumbai, India.

Tuition fees for international students vary between universities and programs. On average, they range from EUR 2790 to EUR 10,000 per year (approximately INR 2.5 lakhs to INR 8.7 lakhs)

Students should budget around EUR 400 to EUR 1,200 per month (approximately INR 35,000 to INR 1.05 lakhs) for cost of living, including accommodation, food, transportation, and other personal expenses.

France offers a post-study work visa that allows international students to stay in the country for up to two years after completing their studies. According to the Campus France India report, in 2020, over 500 Indian students were granted work visas in France after completing their studies. After working in France for a certain period and meeting other criteria, students can apply for permanent residency.
